Education Nation Tour Rolls Through Atlanta

I was fortunate to be able to attend the Job One: Preparing America to Compete in the 21st Century event at the Georgia Aquarium on May 7, 2012.  The session was part of the Atlanta leg of the Education Nation Tour 2012 and was sponsored by NBC News and the University of Phoenix.  There was a gathering of public officials, educators, parents, community leaders and business executives all there to discuss education reform in the State of Georgia.  In attendance were:

David Gregory of Meet the Press was the moderator for the program along with audience correspondent and 11Alive News education reporter Donna Lowry.  It was a very informative event and I was invited to cover it given my role as a Georgia business owner and someone very passionate about closing the skills gap for new entrants to the workplace.

Below is my recap of the event. What are you thoughts about what Georgia and the country can and should do regarding serious education reform?  Feel free to share this with others who care about this important issue.
